n The test repeats through a total of 4 stages.
n A “confirmation” screen displays when each testing stage is
complete. Choose Continue to proceed.
- If conditions are out-of-range for idle
air control, or if a possible failure is
detected for any stage, an
“advisory” message displays.
Choose Back to return to the Active
Test menu.
5. When all stages of the test are complete,
a final “confirmation” screen displays.
n Choose Back to return to the Active
Test menu.
EVAP Test
The EVAP Test function lets you test the vehicle’s Evaporative (EVAP)
Emissions System. You may choose to perform a SINGLE SOLENOID
test, MULTI SOLENOID test, or FUNCTION TEST.
To access the EVAP Test function:
n Select EVAP Test in the Active Test
menu, then press ENTER .
- The EVAP TEST menu displays.
To perform the SINGLE SOLENOID test:
1. Select SINGLE SOLENOID in the EVAP TEST menu, then press
ENTER .
n An “instructional” screen displays. Prepare the vehicle for test as
directed:
- Make sure the battery is fully charged.
- Turn the ignition on. DO NOT start the engine.
2. Choose Continue to proceed.
n The Select Test screen displays.
3. Select the desired test, then choose
Continue.
n A “status” screen displays while the
test is in progress.
n The screen shows the EVAP TEST
selected, the FPT Sensor pressure,
the EVAP PC Duty cycle, and the
EVAP CVS Valve status.
