n The Battery Reset menu displays.
3. Select Battery Reset OBD Service, then press ENTER .
n An “informational” screen displays.
4. Choose Next to continue.
n A series of “instructional” screens display, directing you to enter
reference information for the battery (part number, manufacturer,
serial number).
5. Choose Next as necessary to scroll the
screen and enter the necessary
information.
n A “confirmation” screen displays.
n The screen shows the previously
entered Battery part number,
Battery manufacturer and Battery
serial number.
6. Select the desired option:
n To proceed with coding, select Carry out coding and press
ENTER . Proceed to step 7.
n To re-enter battery reference information, select Repeat input
and press ENTER . Repeat steps 4 an 5.
n To cancel the battery reset process,
select Cancel and press ENTER
to return to the Main Menu.
7. If battery coding was successful, a
“confirmation” screen displays. Choose
Exit to return to the Main Menu.
n If battery coding was not successful,
an “advisory” screen displays.
Choose Exit to return to the Main
Menu.
BATTERY/ALTERNATOR MONITOR
The Scan Tool can perform a check of the vehicle’s battery and alternator
system to ensure the system is operating within acceptable limits. You
can perform a battery check only, or an alternator system (battery and
alternator) check.
To perform a battery check ONLY:
1. Press M and release.
n The Main Menu displays.
2. Select Battery/Alternator Monitor, then press ENTER .
