4. Choose Perform Reset to continue.
n A “confirmation” screen shows the
new Engine Oil Life Value.
5. Choose Exit to return to the ECM
Special Functions menu.
Crankshaft Position Variation Learn
The Crankshaft Position Variation Learn
function lets you perform the “learning”
procedure for crankshaft position variation.
1. Select Crankshaft Position Variation Learn in the ECM Special
Functions menu, then press ENTER .
n An “instructional” screen displays. Prepare the vehicle for test as
directed:
Choose Next as necessary to scroll the “instructional”
screen.
- Block all drive wheels.
- Set the parking brake. (DO NOT apply the brake pedal at this time.)
- Turn the ignition on. DO NOT start the engine at this time.
- Press and hold the brake pedal.
- Start and idle the engine.
- Make sure the A/C system is off.
- Place the transmission in PARK or NEUTRAL.
2. Choose Next to continue.
n If engine coolant temperature is less than 70°C, a status screen
displays.
n When engine coolant temperature is greater than 70°C, an
“instructional” screen displays.
- Cycle the ignition off then back on.
- Start and idle the engine.
3. Choose Next to continue.
n A “status” screen displays.
n The screen shows the current values for Engine Speed, TP
Indicated Angle, ECT Sensor, A/C Relay Command, and APP
Indicated Angle.
