Warm-Up Period
Let the PCR II Plus warm up for thirty minutes after you turn on the
power. It is possible to record images as soon as the calibration se-
quence
is
complete,
but the
full
warm-up
period
ensures
optimal
image
quality.
Note: The warm-up calibration sequence does not
replace the need to color balance the system. For
procedures, see Chapter 6.
Follow these guidelines regarding the warm-up period:
• If the film recorder has been turned off for several hours, let it warm
up for thirty minutes before you begin recording images.
• If you
have
been
using
the
film
recorder
for
several
hours
and
turn
it off for a few minutes, you do not have to wait thirty minutes when
you turn on the unit again.
• If you experience brown-out or power surge conditions, turn the film
recorder off. Severe line voltage fluctuations can damage the power
supplies
and
internal
circuits.
When
you
restart
the
film
recorder
after a brown-out or surge condition clears, let it warm up for thir-
ty minutes.
• Never turn the film recorder on-off-on in rapid sequence. This can
damage the equipment. Allow at least ten seconds between on-off
cycles.
