4 LAN Configuration
Location of the Media Access Control (MAC) Address
Location of the Media Access Control (MAC) Address
The MAC or hardware address of the LAN interfaces is a world-wide,
unique identifier. No other network device will have the same hardware
address. The MAC address is physically located on the electronic main
board in the rear box of the instrument. It is not accessible by the user.
The MAC can be reviewed from a connected instrument by accessing it via a
Telnet session as described earlier. Please follow the instructions on Manual
Configuration, Using Telnet (“With Telnet” on page 72) and see Figure 11 on
page 74 for the location of the MAC address as the second line in the LAN
status page.
