6 Connect the Ethernet cable to the RJ-45 port (DLP 101).
7 Connect the POTS cables to the RJ-11 ports (DLP 123).
8 Connect the coaxial cable (DLP 116).
9 If used, configure the SLID (DLP 129).
10 If required, have approved service personnel who are trained to work with optic
fiber clean the fiber optic connection. See DLP 134 for more information about
fiber optic handling, inspection, and cleaning.
11 Connect the SC/APC adaptor to the fiber optic port (DLP 125).
12 Connect the power cable to the connector on the ONT unit.
Note — A new SLID or the old SLID may be used with the replacement
ONT. If a new SLID is used, the new SLID must also be programmed at
the P-OLT using TL1 or a network manager. If the old SLID is used, no
changes need to be made at the P-OLT; see the Operations and
Maintenance documentation for the I-211M-K or I-211M-L for more
details.
Danger — Fiber optic cables transmit invisible laser light. To avoid eye
damage or blindness, never look directly into fibers, connectors, or
adapters.
Warning — Be careful to maintain a bend radius of no less than 1.5
inches (3.8 cm) when connecting the fiber optic cable. Too small of a
bend radius in the cable can result in damage to the optic fiber.
Warning — To avoid the possibility of damage to the pins on the power
cable, carefully align the arrow on the power cable with the notch on
the protective rim around the ONT power connector as shown in
Figure NTP 161-5. If these two objects align, the pins on the cable will
also align with the pin holes in the power connector prior to making the
connection. The pin and pin hole configurations are shown in Figure
NTP 161-6.
Note — Units must be powered by a UL Listed and marked limited
power source power supply with a minimum output rate of 12 V dc, 2.5
A.
