automatically restart analysis when a potentially shockable rhythm is detected. Before the
shockable rhythm is detected, the system will repeat the voice prompt of "A Shock is Not
Recommended, press Pause for CPR If Needed," and cycles through the text prompt of "Shock is
Not Recommended" and "Do not touch the patient while the heart rate is being analyzed...".
You can start CPR by pressing the [Reanalysis] soft key to interrupt the analysis. The time of
CPR state can be set in [AED settings].
The defibrillator monitor will restart the analysis after the CPR state is finished or start the
rhythm analysis by pressing the [Reanalysis] soft key while in the CPR state.
4.4 CPR Operation
When the number of shocks set for a sequence of shocks is completed, the Defibrillator
Monitor suspends the analysis, enters the CPR state, and starts the CPR countdown. At this time,
the device will prompt "Please start CPR now". At the end of the CPR state, the Defibrillator
Monitor starts analysis again. In the CPR state, press the Reanalysis soft key to restart smart
analysis.
If a shock is delivered in the current sequence, the system enters the CPR state. The duration
of CPR is determined by the value of "CPR Time" in [AED settings].
Upon entering the CPR state, the Defibrillator Monitor provides a CPR metronome function
to instruct the operator to perform chest compressions and ventilate the patient at the AHA/ERC
recommended rate of 120 beats per minute and perform ventilation. For the "CPR metronome"
and "CPR mode" settings, please refer to 4.3.1. The default ventilation mode is 15:2 for children
and 30:2 for adults.
Warnings
The CPR metronome does not indicate the patient's current condition. Since the patient's
condition may change in a very short period, the operator needs to always assess the patient’s
condition. CPR should not be performed on a patient who is responding and breathing normally.
Caution
The CPR metronome is affected by the setting of the AED voice prompt switch and voice
volume.
