4. To stop the measurement within the set time, press Stop Measurement on the
Defibrillator Monitor panel.
Manual measurement
1. Open the main menu screen, select [Basic Configuration], and open the [NIBP settings]
menu.
2. Set [NIBP Measurement Interval] to "Manual".
3. Use the buttons on the Defibrillator Monitor panel to start or stop the
measurement.
Warnings
In automated measurement mode, if the time is too long, the friction between the cuff and
the limb may cause purpura, ischemia, and nerve damage. While monitoring the patient,
frequently check the color, warmth, and sensitivity of the patient's distal extremity. Once an
abnormality is observed, the cuff should be placed in a different location, or the blood pressure
measurement should be stopped.
10.2.3 Correct Measurement Results
The limb used to measure blood pressure should be placed at the same level as the patient's
heart. Otherwise, the measurement results shall be corrected by the following correction
methods:
If the cuff is above the horizontal position of the heart, add 0.75mmHg (0.10kPa) per
cm difference to the measurement result.
If the cuff is below the horizontal position of the heart, subtract 0.75 mmHg (0.10 kPa)
per centimeter of disparity from the measurement result.
10.3 Limitations of the Measurement
NIBP measurements are not suitable for patients with extreme heart rates (below 40bpm or
above 240bpm) or in patients connected to a cardiopulmonary machine.
NIBP measurement may be inaccurate or not possible for the following cases:
Difficulty to detect regular arterial pressure pulsations
Excessive or continuous patient movement, such as tremors or spasms
Arrhythmia
Rapid change in blood pressure
Severe shock or hypothermia that reduces blood flow to the periphery
Measured on an oedematous limb
10.4 Measurement Mode
There are three measurement modes:
