8.14 Loading Configuration into the iPAM400
The following devices and information are required in order to configure the new iPAM400:
1) A USB memory stick.
2) A VGA monitor.
3) A USB keyboard.
4) The iPAM400 IP address or hostname, which can be found in the system design
documentation.
5) The required iPAM400 configuration file (*.cfg).
Configuration files should have been archived when the iPAM400 was commissioned or
modified.
6) Refer to Section “6.3.1 Using the Setup Tool” (page 64) for details of the Setup Tool.
Loading the Configuration to the iPAM400:
1. Copy the ALL files intended for the new iPAM400 to the root directory of the USB memory stick.
2. Connect the monitor and keyboard to the
iPAM400 rear panel connectors.
3. Power and start the iPAM400, if not
already done.
4. The iPAM400 will start up with the factory
default setup.
The iPAM400 prompts for login.
5. Plug the USB memory stick into one of
the available USB ports on the iPAM400
rear panel.

6. Log into iPAM400 as "root" with the password provided for your installation.
7. Run the SetupTool by entering the following command: /dva/bin/vipet_setup
8. Choose the “Configure” option from the main menu by entering its option number.
9. Choose the “USB drive” option from the configuration menu by entering its option number.
A list of all configuration files available in the memory stick will be shown.
10. Choose the required configuration by entering its option number.
A list of iPAM400 units will be shown. The configuration file can contain the configuration of more
than one iPAM400.
11. Select the iPAM400 being configured by entering its option number.
