1. Safety
To prevent p rojector damage
Leave an exclusion zone around all external surfaces of the projector. See "Safety training to be provided by the installer", page
5.
This projector has been designed for use with a specic lamp (house) type. S ee installation instructions for its correct type.
The air lters of the pr ojector mu st be cleaned or replaced on regular base. Neglecting this could result in disrupting the air ow
inside the projector, causing overheating. Overheating may lead to the projector shutting down during operation.
The projector must always be installed in a manner which ensures free ow of air into its air inlets and the mandatory exhausted
system must be c apable of removing minimum 10m
3
/min (350 CFM) measured at the projector’s exhaust opening.
In order to ensure that correct airow is maintained, and that the projector complies with E lectromagnetic Com patibility (EMC )
requirements, it should always be operated with all of it’s c overs in plac e.
Slots and o penings in the cabinet are pro vided for ventilation. To ensure reliable op eration of the produc t a
nd to protect it from
overheating, these openings must not be blocked or covered. The openings should never be blocked by plac ing the product
on a bed, sofa, rug, or other similar surface. This p roduct should nev er be placed near or over a radiator or heat register. T he
device should not be placed in a built-in installation or enclosure unless proper v entilation is prov
ided.
Ensure that nothing can be spilled on, or dropped inside the p rojector. If this d oes happen, s witch off and unplug the mains
supply immediately. D o no t opera te the projector again un til it has been checked by qualied service personnel.
Do not block the projector coo ling fans or free air m ovem ent around the projector.
Do not use this equipment near water.
Proper operation of the projector can only be guar anteed in table mounting. It is not permitted to use the projector in another
position. See installation procedure for correct installation.
Special care for Laser B eams: special care should be used when DLP projectors are used in the same room as high power
laser equipm ent. Direct or indirect hitting of a laser beam on to the lens can severely damage the Digital Mirror Devices

which case there is a loss of warranty.
Never place the projector in direct s un light. S un light on the lens can severely damage the Digital M irror Devices

case there is a loss of warranty.
Save the original s hipping carton and packing material. They will come in handy if you eve r have to ship your equipm ent. For
maximum protection, repack your s et as it was o riginally packed at the factory.
Disconnect the power to the projectors mains terminals before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use
a damp cloth for cleaning. Neve r use s trong solvents, suc h as thinner or benzi
ne, or, patrol, or abrasive c leaners, since these
will damage the cabinet. Stubborn stains may be removed with a cloth lightly dampened with mild detergent solution.
To ensure the highes t o ptical performance and resolution, the projection lenses are specially treated with an an ti-reective
coating, therefore, avoid touching the lens. To remove dust on the lens, use a soft dry cloth. Do not use a damp cloth, detergent
solution, or thinner.

The lamp hou se shall be replaced if it has become damaged or thermally deformed.
On servicing
Refer all s ervicing to qualied s ervice personnel.
Attempts to alter the f actory-set internal controls or to c hange other control settings not specially dis cussed in this manual can
lead to permanent damage to the projector and cancellation of the warranty.
Remove all power from t he projector and refer servicing to qualied service personnel under the following conditions:
- When the power cord or plug is damaged or frayed.
- If liquid has been spilled into the equipment.
- If the produ ct has been expo sed to rain or water.
- If t he p roduct does not o perate normally wh en the ope rating instructions are followed. Adjust only those controls that are
covered by the operating instructions since im proper adjustment of the other c ontrols may result in damage and will often
require extensive work by qualied service personnel to restore the product to normal operation.
- If the product has been dropped or the cabinet ha s been damaged.
- If the pr oduct exhibits a distinct change in performance, indicating a need for service.
When replacement parts are required, be sure the service personnel has used original Barco replacement parts or authorized
replacement parts which hav e the same characteristics as the B arco original part. Unauthorized substitutions may result in
degraded performance and reliability, re, electric shock or other hazards. Unauthorized substitutions may void warranty.
Upon completion of any service or repairs to this projector, ask the service personnel to perform safety checks to determine
that the product is in proper operating condition.
Possible explosion hazard: always keep in mind the caution below:
WARNING: The user is not p ermitted to perform o r attempt any phase of xen on lamp handling or service.
Only trained and qualied technical service personnel are allow ed to handle the xeno n lamp.
