Calibration Database Software support HART in-
struments as follows:
QM6 Quality Manager starting from version 1.90.
adding instruments created in MC5-IS to QM6’s database,
starting from version 1.90a.
QD3 Quality Documenter starting from version 2.10.
Connecting MC5-IS and a HART
Instrument
How the HART instrument is connected to MC5-IS depends on the
supply power connection and whether there is a test diode con-
nected to the transmitter. The following pictures describe the con-
nections for each case.
External Supply
MC5-IS measures the externally supplied output current of the trans-
mitter. The HART
®
terminal is used for
digital communica-
tion. Remember to
make sure that the
loop also includes a
resistor with a resis-
tance between 230 to
600 ohm or that the
impedance of the
loop itself is at least
230 ohms.
