To set the number of lives that are maintained in the history table for an IP SLA operation, use the lives
command in IP SLA operation history configuration mode. To use the default value, use the no form of this
command.

Number of lives that are maintained in the history table for an IP SLA operation.
Range is 0 to 2.

The default value is 0 lives.

Usage Guidelines
The lives command is supported only to configure the following operations:
•
IP SLA ICMP path-echo
•
IP SLA ICMP echo
•
IP SLA UDP echo
If you use the no form of the lives command, the history statistics are not collected.

The following example shows how to use the lives command in IP SLA UDP echo configuration mode:
RP/0/0/CPU0:router# configure
RP/0/0/CPU0:router(config)# ipsla

RP/0/0/CPU0:router(config-ipsla-op)# type udp echo
