Removing a 5.25-Inch Removable Media Device
You must shut the system down before adding or replacing a removable media
device.
4. Remove the cover to the PCI card cage.
5. Remove and set aside the four screws
➊ that secure the removable media
cage.
6. Unplug the signal cable
➋ and power cable ➌ from all devices except the
floppy.
7. Remove the cage.
8. Unplug the signal cable and power cable from the floppy.
9. Remove the four screws
➍ that secure the device and set aside the screws.
Slide the device out of the storage slot.
NOTE: When installing a removable media device, remove the blank bezel from
the next available slot. For installation instructions, see the Compaq
