■ Job Queuing
There are three types of Job Queuing available:
• On – Job Selection by DCP/NGCPL
• Repeat – A sequence set up using the Controller
• Binary Select – Using inputs from an external source to control the sequence (i.e.
traversing unit with flex/io)
On
This is used when job selection is provided by an external system.
In this mode:
• Job data cannot be updated via NGPCL/DCP
o Although the DCP/NGPCL protocols normally allow job data to be updated,
when job queuing is used, the first job in the sequence is always regarded
as the current job. Effectively updating job data is not possible in this mode
• Allocations cannot be used
• Settings files associated with jobs are ignored
• Data must be provided for each job
• Counts will only be updated for each label
Repeat
Is the most commonly used mode where a series of images are repeatedly printed in
sequence. For example, the SmartDate X40 may be required to print the sequence of
images A, B, A, B.
In this mode:
• Job data cannot be updated via NGPCL/DCP
• Allocations cannot be used
• Settings files associated with jobs are ignored
• Data must be provided for each job
• Counts will only be updated for each label
