SmartDate X40 BFSE Version 1.0 Feb 2011
58/286
Photo Sensor
There are two methods of providing a ‘Print Go’ signal to the SmartDate X40:
Print Go Input Using a Voltage Free Contact Method:
• Wired between terminals 1 (24 V DC) and 2 (PRINT GO)
The SmartDate X40 is edge triggered and prints when the contacts close, but will not
print again until the contacts have opened and re-closed.
Print Go Input Using a ‘PNP’ Sensor Method:
A PNP sensor is connected as shown:
• Signal cable into terminal 2 (PRINT GO)
• Ground cable into terminal 3 (GND)
• Power cable to terminal 1 (+24 V)
The SmartDate X40 prints each time the sensor changes from low state to high state.
The input uses a maximum of 13 mA at 25 VDC.
The SmartDate X40 is edge triggered and prints whenever the voltage is applied, but will
not print again until the voltage is removed and re-applied.
