Optional Registration Unit
• Modern bagging machines operating in Continuous mode vary the speed of substrate
during the producing cycle
• This can sometimes cause the SmartDate X40 to print during the fastest part of the
substrate travel
• Some host machines have their own substrate-adjusting roller in place to overcome
this
• For those that do not, an optional registration unit is available.
• The registration roller assembly can be
added to both the modular window or solid-
end-plate brackets
• For Intermittent applications, it allows
adjustment of the print position
• For Continuous applications printing can be
set to avoid peak substrate speeds as the
substrate is ‘pulled’ for each new pack
• The registration unit must be positioned in the
substrate path AFTER the Printer
