Cassette:
• Remove the Cassette and clean inside. DO NOT use water to clean the unit.
Isopropanol cleaning wipes can be used for this purpose
• To clean debris from the inside of the Cassette, Markem.Imaje recommends the
use of a soft bristle brush
Controller:
• Turn off the power to the Controller
• Wipe down the Controller with Isopropanol wipes. Since there are electronic
components inside this casing, DO NOT use water to clean the unit
Care Of The Printhead
The Markem-Imaje Printhead is robust and will perform well over its lifetime. However, as
with all electromechanical components it will be subject to wear and tear. Careful installation,
correct operation and regular maintenance will maximize the life of the Printhead.
• Wherever possible use full width ribbon. Ribbon is smoother than substrate and
protects the Printhead from wear and is essential to maintain Printhead Warranty
• Use the minimum Darkness settings possible that produces a good quality print.
Higher Darkness settings reduce Printhead life
• Use the minimum air pressure possible that produces a good quality print. Higher
Darkness settings reduce Printhead life
• Clean the Printhead regularly. The frequency of cleaning will depend on the
application, but at least once per shift is recommended
