How to Achieve a Good Print
Normal Speed
Normal speed is 50-600mm/s
Start with the Printer set to the default settings and the air pressure at 3.5 bar
Print at application speed
If the print quality is unacceptable try the following:
o Move the Printhead to 2mm before the centerline of the roller. Page 90
o If the print speed is high and the leading edge of the characters is poor
raise the Cont 4 setting towards 99%
o If the print speed is high and the body of the characters is poor raise the
Cont 5 setting towards 100%
o Raise the darkness in steps up to a maximum of 120%
Remember: The higher the darkness and the higher the air pressure the shorter the
Printhead life.
Low Speed
Low speed is below 50mm/s.
Switch the encoder to High Resolution mode. Calibrate the encoder as shown on

Start with the Printer set to the default settings and the air pressure at 3.5 bar
Print at application speed
If the print quality is still unacceptable, try the following:
o Move the Printhead to 2mm after the centerline of the roller. This is opposite
to the requirement for normal speed printing. Page 90
Print at the Application Speed
If the print quality is still unacceptable, try the following:
o Reduce the air pressure to 2 bar
Note: At low speeds, increasing the Darkness beyond 120% will have little effect on print
quality. It will increase the likelihood of the ribbon breaking and premature Printhead
failure.
