■ Print Trigger Modes
The SmartDate X40 supports 3 different methods of initiating a print signal. It is important to
remember that for all print modes the minimum repeat distance depends on the speed of the
substrate and the image being printed.
• External: This is the Printer default mode and is used when the print signal is
received from an external source
• Internal: In this mode the Printer will automatically print the selected image at a pre-
defined distance without the need for an external print signal. The pre-defined
distance is set in the Fixed Spacing Distance parameter, which becomes available
when Internal Print Trigger is selected
• Combined: In this mode a print sequence is started by an external trigger; the
remaining images are printed using internal triggers. When combined trigger mode is
enabled, two additional parameters are made available in the Print Initiation menu
o The Fixed Spacing Distance is the same as when using the internal print
trigger
o Fixed Space Count is used to enter the number of prints in the sequence
