■ Printer Description
The SmartDate X40 is available in two Printer types:
• SmartDate X40 Intermittent
• SmartDate X40 Continuous
Continuous
In Continuous motion printing:
• The Printhead is held in a fixed
position
• An encoder is used to measure the
speed of the material being printed
on
• The ribbon is accelerated to match
the substrate speed and the
Printhead is energized to produce
the print
Intermittent
In Intermittent motion printing:
• The substrate is held in a
fixed position
• The Printhead carriage is
accelerated and the
Printhead energized to
produce the print
