Flexible Input Output (Flex/io)
• Flex/io is a method of configuring the SmartDate X40 to interface with an
integrated control system
• The SmartDate X40 has one configurable user input and two outputs that can be
configured using a flexible I/O map
• Flex/io map configurations are stored as an XML file. A number of these files may
be stored in the SmartDate X40 file system
• It is possible to select the required flex/io map file via the user interface
Standard Flex/io Configuration
• Unless the SmartDate X40 has been configured to use a custom flex/io, map it
should be disabled
• Incorrectly selecting the default flex/io will result in a continuous ‘busy’ signal
• If a new flex/io map is selected the Controller must be power cycled before it will be
activated
• There is a maximum of 2 jobs
For more detailed information about using and configuring the Flex/io, refer to the Flexible
IO User Manual.
