Connecting a DAT machine to save/load data

• U$a optcal cables to connect die DMT-Sw DATA IN connector with the DAT OPTICAL
OUT connoctor and the DMT-6vi DATA OUT connector with the DAT OPTICAL IN
oonnector.
• insert a DAT recorrJng tape in the DAT machne
• Set the DAT machine so that it wil record digftaJ data input from the optica: connector.
For more information on DAT settings, refer to the natruction manual that came with
your DAT machne

To save and toad data, you can use onty a DAT machine that alows lor digital recording
with 16 bit'44.1kHt. non-compression recording, optical S/P DIF format. Other media
cannot be used appropriately for save/toad operations For example, you cannot uae an
MD or DCC that uses a compression recording method, a CD-R machine that makes an
automatic correction between songs, any devices that convert sampling rates, or any
devcee that have Adat optical connectors Some devices eclipped with SCMS can be
used if they salety the condtons descrfced above.
The foftowng mode* can correctly savertoed data. Bascaty. any DAT machines equpped
with optical irVout connectors in the S/P DtF format should work fine. However, please
note that some mode* may cause errors to occur.

Whan you are loading data from a DAT connected to the DMT-Svl . and if that DAT plays
beck data m sync with an external dock (e g.. It it is a professional level DAT machine) with
as INPUT (or EXTERNAL SYNC) switch set to "OPTICAL,* the Otgtal dock wil form loops
as shown below, preventing the DMT$vi from loading data correcSy

In this case, set the DAT sync modo to "INTERNAL* or remove the optical cable from the
DMT-evi. DATA OUT connector. (On the other hand, while data m saved, its DATA IN will
not factor Thu*, no problem will occur.)
