10 COMPLETION
Ensure that the newly installed keyboard is correctly configured, as follows:
1. Power on the Senographe system, and login as the sdc user.
2. From behind the Browser, launch a command window (see Launching a Command Line Window on
page 120).
A command window appears with an ADS prompt.
3. Launch the textedit application, by entering:
textedit
4. Within the TextEdit application window that appears, type some characters that are specific to the
keyboard that you have installed. Ensure that the characters that are displayed are the same as the
keys that you are pressing on the newly installed keyboard.
• If the characters displayed correspond to the keys you are pressing, the keyboard is configured cor-
rectly.
• If the characters displayed do not correspond to the keys you are pressing, the keyboard is not con-
figured correctly, and you must re-perform section 8-1 and select the correct keyboard type using the
Desktop Manager Configuration Tool.
5. Double click the button in the top left of the TextEdit window to exit the textedit application.
