For optionally backing up the AWS parameters to external media:
• Blank DOS formatted HD 3.5 floppy disk (for V1/V2 Control Stations)
• blank CD-R (for V3/V4 Control Stations)

Notice:
If backup to floppy disk or CD-R is not possible, it is necessary to record AWS parameters manu-
ally so that they can be restored later (e.g., after an upgrade procedure). Refer to Form LBK A003
- Back-up/Restore Procedure - AWS Parameters Manual Record Sheets on page 801 for a suit-
able form.

Notice:
An AWS backup from a particular ADS version can only be restored to the same ADS version. Un-
less it is written in the Upgrade Procedure, it is prohibited to perform a backup and restore from
different ADS/IDC versions, since the file structure may vary between the different versions. If you
try to restore an ADS/IDC backup to a different version, you will corrupt the AWS/IDC installation
and cause system problems. If you are backing up a system before upgrading the ADS version,
record the AWS parameters manually so that they can be manually restored later (see Form LBK
A003 - Back-up/Restore Procedure - AWS Parameters Manual Record Sheets on page 801).
