Access
Keyboard
Several keyboard subassemblies are field-replaceable. These subassemblies are listed below, fol-
lowed by their access procedures.
• Keycaps
• Keyswitch Board
• Keyboard Electronics Board
• Keyswitches
• Language Resistors
• Real-Time Clock/Non-Volatile Memory (RTC/NVM) Batteries
All
subassemblies listed above, except keycaps, require that the keyboard
be
removed
from the
computer.
To
remove
the keyboard from the
computer
proceed as follows:
1.
UNPLUG COMPUTER POWER CORD FROM AC OUTLET.
2.
Remove front cover
and
keyboard bezel as previously described.
3. Disconnect
ground
strap connector at top left of keyboard from lug
on
computer
(Figure
4-30).
4. Loosen four
