Reassembly Notes
Attach four clips to corners of fan before attempting to install fan in
computer.
Install replacement fan in
computer
with airflow direction arrow pointing
toward rear of
computer
and
plug receptacle
at
upper
right corner of fan
(as viewed from rear of computer).
Ensure
proper
polarity of fan
and
fan cable.
Ensure fan cable
is
not pinched
when
computer
is
reassembled.
I/O Card Cage Fan
1.
UNPLUG COMPUTER POWER CORD FROM
AC
OUTLET.
2.
Remove front
and
rear covers as previously described.
3. Remove
all
cards from
110
area
and
mass storage controller area as previously described
under
110
Cards
and
Mass Storage Controller Cards.
4.
Disconnect power supply cable
and
safety ground cable from ac module (Figure 4-61).
5. Remove three
#2
Pozidriv screws that attach ac module to computer (Figure 4-61),
and
rotate ac module onto
its
side.
6.
Disconnect two ribbon cables from
110
backplane (Figure 4-62)
and
remove ac module.
CAUTION
THE
REAR
CARD
GUIDE
HAS
THREE
LOCATING
PINS
THROUGH
THE
110
BACKPLANE BOARD AND TWO
THROUGH
THE FRONT CASTING. HANDLE GUIDE CAREFULLY
TO
AVOID
BREAKING THE LOCATING PINS.
