Internal Storage and Media Areas
The ProLiant DL580 Generation 2 server ships standard with a diskette drive and an
IDE CD-ROM drive in the slimline drive bays. You can replace the CD-ROM or
diskette drive with a DVD drive, another diskette drive, or another CD-ROM drive.
The following areas of the ProLiant DL580 Generation 2 server support installation
of internal storage and media drives:

Drive bays
— Hot-plug hard drive
— HP universal hot-plug tape drive
Slimline drive bays
— One slimline 1.44-MB diskette drive in the top slimline drive bay
— One slimline IDE CD-ROM drive in the bottom slimline drive bay
— An optional DVD drive in either slimline drive bay
