What to do if the HP XP P9500 Remote Web Console hangs?
    • S
      Stephanie Nguyen DDSSep 8, 2025
If the HP Software Remote Web Console hangs, ensure the issue isn't with your computer, Ethernet hardware, or software. Restart your computer, which won't impact ongoing Cnt Ac-J operations. Verify all Cnt Ac-J requirements are met. Confirm that the primary and secondary systems, along with remote copy connections, are powered on and fully operational, including NVS and cache. Double-check all entered values and parameters in the Remote Web Console for accuracy, such as the secondary system S/N and path parameters. Avoid using Performance Monitor during these operations.

What causes the error: primary storage system could not find valid control information in HP XP P9500?
    • G
      georgewilliamsSep 15, 2025
If the primary storage system could not find valid control information in its nonvolatile memory during the IMPL procedure in HP Software, and this error occurs only if the primary storage system is without power for more than 48 hours (power failure and fully discharged batteries), restore the pair (pairresync) from the primary storage system. The primary storage system performs an initial copy operation in response to the pairresync request, so that the entire P-VOL is copied to the S-VOL.

What does 'Pair-Port Number Mismatch' mean in HP XP P9500 Software?
    • D
      deanaaronAug 26, 2025
The 'Pair-Port Number Mismatch' error in HP Software indicates that the specified port in the secondary system is physically disconnected from the primary system. Make sure of the following: * That you specified the correct secondary system port. Correct the port number if necessary. * The primary and the secondary systems ports are connected with cables. If the systems are not connected by cables, connect them and retry the operation. * That the topology settings of ports on the primary and secondary systems are correct.

What to do if HP Software shows 'Serial Number Mismatch'?
    • D
      Donna CannonAug 26, 2025
If the HP Software shows a 'Serial Number Mismatch', it means the serial number (S/N) of the secondary system does not match the specified serial number. Ensure that you entered the correct secondary system S/N and path parameters (for example, primary and secondary system port, and controller ID). After that, delete the failed path. You may need to change the minimum paths setting or delete the secondary system in order to delete the path. After deletion finishes, add the path and the secondary system back. Make sure that you entered the correct controller ID, and also make sure that the topology settings of the primary and secondary system ports are correct.
