3102 - Port was disabled because a pause flood was detected
Severity: MAJOR
Description: Because a pause flood is detected on an Ethernet port, it has been disabled to avoid further
service degradation.
Possible cause: Bad NIC on the server. If too many pause frames are detected on a port, then the port is
disabled with this state.
Actions:
• Update the NIC firmware.
• Enable the disabled ports in the Virtual Connect CLI using the command reset port-protect or
through the Virtual Connect GUI.
• Replace the NIC.
FC Module events (4000-4999)
4009 - FC Module OA CPU Fault Event
Severity: MAJOR
Description: The Onboard Administrator has reported to the VC management application that the indicated
module has reported a hardware failure.
Possible causes:
• A component hardware failure was detected.
• A transient hardware or firmware failure occurred.
Action: Power-cycle the module to clear any transient failures. If the condition persists or occurs repeatedly,
replace the module.
4012 - FC Module State Failed
Severity: CRITICAL
Description: The module is non-functional due to a hardware or firmware failure. VC cannot configure or
monitor this module. This error will impact Fibre Channel traffic.
Possible cause: The OA reported the module status as failed. This is due to a hardware failure or a firmware
failure. The firmware failure could be a kernel panic, memory exhausted, CPU overload, or boot failure.
Action: Power cycle the module to clear any transient hardware failures. If the condition persists a support
dump must be taken and analyzed to determine possible firmware failures.
4014 - FC Module State Incompatible
Severity: MAJOR
Description: The Fibre Channel module in this interconnect bay is incompatible with the VCM domain.
Possible causes:
