(RCBs)
Redundant conguraon:
• Primary RCB is hot-pluggable.
• Backup RCB is hot-insertable and hot-removable.
Base conguraon:
Removal of the RCB causes the router to shut down. To prevent trac
disrupon, take the chassis oine. If a temporary disrupon is acceptable, you
can install a replacement RCB in the second slot. The system restarts to elect a
primary RCB and a backup RCBs If necessary, you can manually switch the
primary and backup RCB using the request chassis routing-engine master
switch command.
Switch Fabric Boards (SFBs) SFBs are hot-insertable and hot-removable. We recommend that you take
SFBs oine before removing them to avoid trac loss while the router fabric
is being recongured. Use the following command:
request chassis sfb slot slot-number offline
Line cards Hot-insertable. We recommend that you take line cards oine before
removing them. Use the following command:
request chassis fpc slot slot-number offline
Opcal transceivers Hot-insertable and hot-removable.
NOTE: Line cards are not part of the base or redundant conguraon. You must order them
separately.
