TO START THE ENGINE USING THE EFU UNIT
EFU is a device for heating the intake air and fa-
cilitating engine starting at the ambient temperature of
minus 5 °С and below.
The EFU reduces emission of harmful substances
into the atmosphere. Furthermore, it results in lower wear
rates of starter and storage batteries as well as the re-
duced engine starting time.
The EFU operation cycle is automatically con-
trolled be the ECU.
To activate EFU, switch on the instruments by
rotating the instruments-and-starter switch key to the ON
position (position of motion).
In ambient temperatures below minus 5 °С the pre-
heating of EFU plugs switches on automatically, whereby
the following information is displayed in instrument clus-
ter:
After the glow plugs are completely warmed up,
the following information is displayed:
Start the engine within 15 seconds.
EFU switches off automatically, if:
- the engine does not start within 30 seconds, after
the light has gone out
;
- the engine is started when the indicator light is
ON
;
- the engine is running with coolant temperature
of approximately 0 ºС
