STEERING SYSTEM FAULTS
STEERING PLAY
It is difficult to keep hold the lane with increased
steering play.
If an increase is detected in steering play com-
pared to previous tests, you need to check steering gear
swivel joints for play.
Play at the swivel joints of steering mechanism is
not allowed.
To check swivel joints of steering mechanism for
play and to repair it, contact the service center.
POWER STEERING UNIT DOES NOT
PROVIDE REQUIRED FORCE
If power steering unit does not ensure sufficient
effort or operates irregularly, with increased noise,
there’s fault in power steering system.
Possible causes:
- oil level in power steering pump tank is too low;
- leakage in hydraulic system of power steering
pump;
- air in hydraulic system;
- filter is clogged.
Vehicle driving is prohibited till fault correction.
If fault is not eliminated, be sure to address the
service center.
