SPARE WHEEL
Depending on vehicle model and configuration,
spare wheel is mounted:
- horizontally on a bracket;
- technological installation.
SPARE WHEEL HORIZONTAL INSTALLATION
The spare wheel is mounted horizontally on a
bracket which is secured on a frame l.h. side member
(see Fig. Spare wheel carrier).
To raise the spare wheel
1. Place the wheel upside down.
2. Insert the spare wheel support inside the rim.
3. Rotating the shaft with wrench for wheel nuts
tightening, raise the spare wheel support and ensure that
the wheel and support surfaces coincide. With further
rotation of the shaft the rope is reeled up and the support
is rising along with the wheel.
4. Secure the wheel with two nuts with washers in
raised position.
To lower the spare wheel
1. Undo two nuts which fasten the spare
wheel to bracket.
2. Depress onto the wheel. If force for
wheel lowering is excessive or if wheel drops
spontaneously, adjust the pressing force of plate
springs (after adjustment, the nut should be se-
cured with a cotter pin).
3. Lower the wheel and remove it, for this,
shift the support out of spare wheel rim.
