CHECKING RECEIVERS FOR CONDENSATION
To maintain the required compressed air (from
compressor) pressure and to cool and extract the conden-
sate, a truck brake system is provided with adsorbent air
dryer united with pressure regulator.
Check for condensate in receiv-
ers daily, at the end of the shift. Open
the condensate drain cocks having
shifted the pusher aside (see Fig. The
pusher).
Attention!
Do not pull the rod down and do not push it up-
wards.
If any condensate in receivers:
- check the pressure regulator for normal opera-
tion (ON/ OFF). Compressed air pressure in the pneu-
matic drive is to be nominal (9,0-10,0 kgf/cm
2
);
- check the adsorbent air dryer, the oil separator
and the connection hoses for tightness. Even the slightest
leak is not permissible;
- if no deviations in pressure regulator, change the
filter element.
Be sure to use filter elements from manufactures
possessing official approval of KAMAZ PTC for delivery.
If you are not able to eliminate the fault yourself,
be sure to address the service center.
Maintenance of a dryer supposes a regular change
of a filter element as soon as it becomes dirty (approxi-
mately once a year).
If any oil emissions by compressor causing the
filter element contamination with oil and considerable its
service life reduction, be sure to repair the compressor.
TIRE MAINTENANCE
Avoid cracks, dents on wheel disks. Disks should
be secured properly, avoid studs breakage, all nuts to se-
cure wheels should be in their places.
Adhere to the specified tightening torque and se-
quence (see Section 7 «Vehicle mechanisms and systems
troubleshooting. Self-help»).
The tires are inspected for technical condition
visually, starting from l.h. front wheel and proceeding
clockwise. Remove stones, nails and other foreign ob-
jects which stuck in tread, tire sides and between the dual
tires. If there are fuel, oil and other petroleum products
on the tires, wipe them with dry cloth. Protect the tires
from fuel, oil and other petroleum products, as this re-
sults in premature failure of tires.
Test the air pressure in tires using a pressure
gauge.
Tire pressure should correspond to the rated value
given in the technical data (see section 2 «Operation pa-
rameters»).
