Appendix 3. SERVICE MATERIALS
To ensure reliable operation of the vehicle, use
fuels, oils and special liquids recommended by the manu-
facturer.
The list of motor oils permitted for application in
Daimler units and assemblies is presented in "Mercedes-
Benz" Specifications for Service Products ".

mation about these prescriptions is available from any
Mersedes Benz service center or on the following web

DIESEL FUEL
Apply fuel compliant with EURO EN 590 stand-
ard, where the sulfur content is no more than 10 million
-1
.
MOTOR OILS
For complete information about motor oils see
section «Service materials» Operating manuals for OM
457LA engines.
For Daimler engines use motor oils given in spec-
ification No.228.5 «of «Mercedes-Benz» Specifications
for Service Products».
The applicable temperature range for motor oils is
shown in Fig.1.
Oil change intervals depend on vehicle operating
conditions; quality of the applied oil; fuel qualiy (sulfur
content).
