4. In response to the number of falls, draw the wire rope through the load sheave at the boom end and
hook block sheave.
5. Draw the end of the wire rope (5) through the weight of the over
hoist detector.
6. Secure the end of the wire rope (5) to the wire socket (3),
following the procedure provided below.
(1) Draw the wire rope (5) through the wire socket (3) as shown
at right.
(2) With the rope wedge (6) in position (a), yank at the wire rope
(5) in the direction indicated by the arrow.
7.Install the rope clip (4) to the wire rope (5).
8. Secure the wire socket (3) to the boom with the wire socket pin
(2), and tighten the wire socket mounting bolt (1).
9. Place the right work equipment control lever in the BOOM
RAISING position (pull it toward you) or the left work equipment
control lever in the BOOM EXTENDING position (pull it forward)
to raise the hook block.
10. With the boom extended and raised fully.
11. With the wire rope (5) held under tension, place the right work equipment control lever in the HOOK
RAISING position (pull it toward you) to wind up the wire rope (5) in the winch drum (9).
At this time, check for irregular winding of the wire rope with the
mirror (1) at the bottom of the winch drum from operator’s seat.
