Test the batteries for any weak cells.
(See Section 7 - Battery Maintenance.)
Replace the alternator.
Connect the voltmeter between the alternator 28-volt terminal and the ground terminal.
Take the reading with the cab power ON and the engine running.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
Belt loose or broken, no input to alternator terminals, damaged alternator,
corroded or loose battery connection, battery damaged.
PROBLEM 4
The engine runs, but the battery is not charging.
CHECKS
Check drive belt for correct tension.

Tighten the drive belt
or replace the belt.
