PROBLEM 12
No boom/mast hoist operation.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
Boom/mast hoist brake not releasing, boom/mast hoist pawl not released or hung up, no voltage through the
control handle to controller, no voltage out of the controller to the pump EDC, wiring or switch is damaged.
CHECKS
On the Diagnostic screen is the drum brake disengaged when the handle is moved in the problem direction?
Does the Diagnostic screen indicate a problem with the pump, motor, brake, or pawl?

Is the drum brake switch in the correct position?
Does the engine load when moving the problem handle in either
direction?
Yes

correct position.
Are 28 volts present at the brake solenoid when the
problem handle is moved? (See Section 3 -Checking
Electrical Inputs/Outputs.)

Repair or replace the wiring.
When moving the problem handle fully in both directions, does the
Diagnostic screen monitor show 100% handle command in each direction?

Is voltage at the handle more than 0
with handle moved? (See Section 3 -

Is the pressure at brake 21 bar
(305 psi) or more?
Correct the problem.
Is there a system fault?
Repair or replace the brake.
Readjust the charge
pressure
relief or replace the pump.
Is the system charge pressure 21
bar (300psi) or more?
Replace the brake valve.
Replace the pump EDC.
Manually stroke the pump. (See Section 2 - Manual Override Test.) Does the pump pressurize?
Is voltage present at the pump EDC? (See Section 3 -
Checking Electrical Inputs/Outputs.)
Repair or replace the wiring.
Isolate the pump. Does the manually
stroked pump pressurize?
Repair or replace
the motor.

Is the control handle center switch at zero?
