CHECKS
Check for damage to the pawl linkage, check for pawl or pawl actuator/cylinder for freedom
of movement.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
Mechanical hang-up, no hydraulic pressure, no voltage to pawl solenoid,
bad wiring, actuator/cylinder failure.
No Damage
Drum 3 pawl in
Drum 3 pawl out
Boom/mast hoist pawl in
Boom/mast hoist pawl out
Damage
Repair the damage. Test and adjust.
Move the park brake switch to the apply and release positions. Check the drum Diagnostic
screen for pawl in and pawl out positions when the applicable function was enabled:
If the pawl is not moving
Is there voltage applied to the pawl valve? (See Section 3 -
Checking Electrical Inputs/Outputs.)
Yes No
Check the wiring.
When enabling the problem pawl switch, check the pawl cylinder
for 24 bar (348 psi) or more at valve cylinder ports.
Pressure
No Pressure
Check for binding or
faulty cylinder.
Repair or replace
the control valve.
Readjust the source charge pressure relief
valve. Does this solve the problem?
Repair or replace the pump.
