8.5 Selecting the measurement units
For B-field measurements only
You can toggle between Tesla and Gauss for the B-field value measurement
units.
The CONFG menu should be activated.
1. Use the UP/DOWN keys to select the “AUX” function.
2. To activate the CONFG AUX sub-menu, press the ENTER key.
3. Use the UP/DOWN keys to select the “B MEAS UNIT” function.
4. Press the ENTER key until the desired units are displayed.
The displayed measurement value will be shown in the selected units.
8.6 Setting the averaging parameter NAVG
For Spectrum FFT and Harmonic Analysis modes only
Annex C: Fundamentals of FFT: see Page C-1
In case of activation of detection mode AVG RMS, the spectra for several
successive measurements are averaged. The number of spectra to use is
determined by the NAVG parameter. A larger value for NAVG reduces the
noise in the screen so that smaller signals can be detected.
For the frequency range 5 Hz…2 kHz, the averaging time can be computed
exactly (averaging time = NAVG x 0.25 s) so that the averaging time of
1
second provided in many standards can be set.
The CONFG menu should be activated.
1. Use the UP/DOWN keys to select the “AUX” function.
2. To activate the CONFG AUX menu, press the ENTER key.
3. Use the UP/DOWN keys to select the “NAVG..” function.
4. Press the ENTER key.
A list with the four possible averaging values appears (4, 8, 16, 32).
5. Use the UP/DOWN keys to select the desired value.
6. Confirm the value with the ENTER key.
During the measurement, the measured values are averaged over the
selected value.
