11.3 Structure of device-specific commands
A distinction is made between write / action commands and read
commands.
Write / action commands
• Write / action commands are used to:
– Enter parameter definitions
– Trigger actions
• All write / action commands are shown in the first column of the table in
section 11.4.
• Write / action commands always have even numbers.
Entering write / action commands
⇒ Enter the write / action command using the defined structure:
C<command number> [<ws><parameter list>] [<ws>]<LF>
• A successfully executed command is confirmed by:
“Q”<command number> <ws> “OK”<LF>
• If there is an error, the following messages appear:
– for a write command:
“Q”<command number> <ws>FAILED[<ws>–<error text>]
<CR><LF>
– or –
– for an action command:
ERROR[<ws>–<ws><error text>]<CR><LF>

Read commands
• Read commands are used to query parameter definitions.
• All read commands are shown in the second column of the table in
section 11.4.
• Read commands always have odd numbers. The read command
numbers are always one higher than the corresponding write command
numbers.
