9.2 Connecting the NBM-550
You can connect the NBM-550 to the PC using the USB
interface or the optical interface:
• Use USB to make use of the higher transmission speed
• Use the optical interface for remote control, since the
metallic USB cable can affect the measurements
Connecting the NBM-550 to a PC
1. Configure the interface
(see “Configuring the interface” on page 90).
Connect the NBM-550 to the PC using a USB cable or
an optical cable.
The NBM-550 will be detected as a new device auto-
matically by the PC.
9.3 Working with the PC software
The following conditions must be fulfilled before you can
work with the PC software:
✓ The PC is ready to use and the PC software has been
installed successfully,
✓ the NBM-550 is ready to use,
✓ NBM-550 and PC are connected together by a USB
cable.
Start the PC software and use it to operate the NBM-550.
Information on using the PC software is found in the on-line
help for the PC software.
