3.2 Saving Configurations
Whenever configuration changes are made, the modified configuration must be
saved so they will not be lost when the system is rebooted.
Configuration files can be saved as follows:
• by executing an explicit command syntax admin save
• an autonomous save occurs between 10 and 20 minutes after the last
configuration has been done on the system
• as part of a general NE database backup
The configuration files can also be saved in a special protected database directory
using the command admin software-mngt ihub database (save-protected).
The following files are saved:
• the configuration file
• the index file, containing internal numbering used to make an identical copy of the
switch configuration after the save.
