Communications Port and Startup Modes Settings Section 6-2
Effect of Pin 5 and Pin 7 on the Startup Mode
If the Startup Mode setting in the PC Setup (DM 6600, bits 08 to 15) is set to
00 Hex (Startup Mode governed by setting of pin 7 on the DIP switch), the
Startup Mode will be determined by the setting of pin 7 as soon as the pres-
ence or absence of a Programming Console connection is determined. The
operating mode depends on the PC Setup, the status of DIP switch pin 7, and
the device connected to the peripheral port when power is turned ON in the
way shown in the following tables.
Note When bits 08 to 15 in DM 6600 of the PC Setup are set to 00 Hex, the Startup
Mode will depend on the setting of pin 7 on the DIP switch and the type of
device connected, in the way shown in the following table:
Note The following table shows the relationship between the Startup Mode and
connecting cables when a device other than a Programming Console is con-
nected, pin 7 on the DIP switch is set to ON, and bits 08 to 15 in DM 6600 of
the PC Setup are set to 00 Hex.
