9.5.3 Disinfection procedure
If your instrument stays without running long time and in a room which is not equipped with
temperature control, the reagents can start contamination. The first sign is an abnormal PLT startup
value elevation. Please apply in this case this procedure.
1. Prepare mixture of Mythic 18-22 Flush Cleaner (ref. HM18-011-025) with demineralized water in
the ratio 1:5,
i.e. 50 ml of Mythic 18-22 Flush Cleaner mix with 200 ml of demineralized water.
2. Remove all reagents straws from the containers and perform the "Prime all Reagents"
procedure with aspiration of air.
3. Put all reagents straw into beaker filled with demineralized water and execute “Prime all
Reagents” command.
4. Remove all reagents straws from water and execute “Prime all Reagents” command with aspiration
of air.
5. Put all reagents straw into bottle with mixture of Mythic 18-22 Flush Cleaner and water (prepared
according to point 1.) and execute “Prime all Reagents” command two times. Make sure that the
total surface of all reagents straws and connectors are immersed with the mixture.
6. Leave the analyzer for approx. 5 minutes.
7. Remove all reagents straws from the mixture and execute “Prime all Reagents” command 3
times with aspiration of air.
8. Rinse the reagents straws and connectors with fresh demineralized water, put all of them into
fresh demineralized water and execute “Prime all Reagents” command 3 times.
9. Remove all reagents straws from water and execute “Prime all Reagents” command 3 times with
aspiration of air.
10. Wipe reagents straws and connectors with particle free cotton cloth soaked with 70% ethanol or
isopropanol. Leave to dry.
11. Place all reagents straws into freshly new opened bottles of reagents and execute “Prime all
Reagents” command two times.
12. Perform start up procedure and verify if obtained values of background are within their limits.
Following chapter 5.4 START UP, the instrument will perform 1 to 3 empty cycles to check the
carry over level. This level should not to exceed the following ratios:
WBC : 0.5
RBC : 0.1
HGB : 0,5
PLT : 10
If the level is higher, MYTHIC displays a window “START UP FAILED” press OK and perform a
new startup.
