When the battery is on, the r
card on the GCS is powered and active. Even
when the screen is off, the transmitter is active.
Power off the battery on the GCS to silence the
radio.
2.5 POWER ON THE AV
To power the AV:
1. Insert a battery pack into the AV battery housing.
2. Press and hold the battery power button for four seconds. The center LED lights up
when the battery pack is on.
3. Listen for the exhaust fan to start-up.
4. Wait for the side panel lights to illuminate. This takes approximately 15 seconds and
indicates the AV is powered on.
5. Wait for the gimbal to center and level itself in a forward-facing position. Gimbal
movement means gimbal startup was successful. The AV is ready to link with the
GCS.
If the AV exhaust fan does not start,
power off the AV immediately.
2.6 ACCESS THE GCS APPLICATIONS
The GS houses a Samsung Galaxy Tab Active Pro tablet PC running the Android operating
system. Several Android applications are installed on the GCS.
• The Teal QGroundControl (Teal QGC) app automatically launches when the TAC
tablet turns on. The Teal QGC app contains the settings and controls for
customizing AV parameterssUA settings for flight.
To access the GCS applications:
1. Touch anywhere along the top edge of the screen and swipe downward. A narrow
vertical gray bar appears at the top. A narrow grey side-bar menu tab appears on
the right edge of the screen.
