3. Inspect the battery and battery charger for damage and temperature before use.
a. Make sure the battery and battery charger components are clean and
undamaged.
b. Do not use the battery or battery charger if you see melting, warping, cracks,
excess dirt, or damage to the power cord and plugs.
c. Make sure the battery is at room temperature or between 16°C and 40°C
(60.8°F-104°F) before charging.
4. Unplug the battery charger when not in use.
5. Remove the battery from the charger if the preheat light sequence begins.
6. Make sure only one of the LED lights blink for more than five seconds to ensure the
battery is charging.
7. Do not leave the battery charging unattended.
8. Only charge batteries in a suitable, safe, well ventilated location with an ambient
temperature between 16°C and 40°C (60.8°F-104°F).
9. If the pre-heat LED sequence starts after placing the battery on the charger,
immediately remove the battery from the charger.
Charging battery packs may become
unstable, overheat, damage battery cells,
and potentially catch on fire. Make sure the
battery is room temperature before
charging. Do not leave charging batteries
13.3 BATTERY CARE
Use the charger to pre-heat battery packs if the battery is exposed to low temperatures
(32 °F [0 °C] or lower) for more than one hour. The time it takes to pre-heat cold batteries
varies according to the starting temperature of the battery pack.
Store batteries between -20 °C to 45 °C (-
4 °F to 113 °F). Do not keep batteries in hot
vehicles. Improperly stored battery pack
may become unstable, overheat, damage
battery cells, and potentially catch on fire.
13.4 BATTERY STATUS
The battery does not have to be connected to a GCS or AV to power on. When the battery
is not attached to an AV or GCS, the battery automictically shuts off after three seconds.
When the battery is attached to an AV or GCS, the battery needs to be powered off
manually.
