LOOP START/GROUND START CIRCUITS
Loop start circuits are normally used where the circuit operates a telephone controlled by a person.
Examples of this include an Off-Premise Extension (OPX) circuit from a PBX, and some Foreign
Exchange (FX) circuits. Loop start is the most commonly used type of circuit.
Ground start is normally used for circuits that have an automated equipment interface, such as PBX’s
at both ends. A feature of ground start circuits is the PBX’s ability to release the line (disconnect the
circuit) if it is left in permanent off-hook condition.
ALERTS/ALARMS
The RFL VF-10D module reports no module level ALERT or ALARM signals to the shelf Common
