4.1.3 Water installation requirements
Please note the following installation requirements with regard to the water
components:
To prevent damage during transport, certain components are shipped
separately. Make sure to install these components correctly.
If an automatic filter is used, ensure that there is enough free space to open or
remove the internal filter.
Ensure that the correct piping has been installed. Install and use materials as
defined in the ISSO 87 publication (Quality requirements for water systems in
greenhouses [Dutch document]).
Ensure that the pressure pipes are the correct diameter in relation to the
distance to the tank.
If water is supplied under pressure, install a pressure reduction valve and set it
to a maximum of 0.5 bars.
Minimize pressure losses in the supply line: use the correct diameter pipes in
relation to the length of the unit and the altitude of the installation site. If an
automatic filter is used, bear in mind the extra amount of flush water required.
Minimize pressure losses in the discharge line: ensure that the filter discharge
pipe(s)is (are) the correct diameter in relation to the distance to the discharge
point. Take extra care when using a self-cleaning screen filter.
Fill the suction pipes fully with water and bleed them of air before
commissioning.
4.1.4 Electrical installation requirements
Please note the following installation requirements with regard to the electrical
components:
Ensure that there is a stable power source.
Ensure that there are extra plug sockets near the unit to operate and maintain
the unit.
Ensure that the equipment and the electricity network is grounded (earthed).
For units with the specification 3x230V, without neutral, at
50/60Hz:
If the power point does not supply 3x230V, without neutral, at 50/60hz, then
the power supply should be connected via a separate transformer.
4.1.5 Requirements for installing water tank sensors
UV-C lamps wear out mainly from switching on and off. You should therefore ensure
that the unit remains running for at least a certain amount of time. To calculate
whether the unit can remain running for at least this 'Minimum lamp on-time’, the unit
needs to know the current water levels in the drain and disinfected tanks. This will
allow the unit to determine how much water there is in the drain tank and thus
available for disinfection, and how much space there is the disinfected tank to store
the disinfected water. The water level in the tanks is measured with the aid of
pressure sensors.
