When installing the sensors, please bear in mind the following:
To ensure the best possible performance, the sensors should be placed in an
open pipe slanted at the bottom. Secure the pipe to the water tank. Make sure
that the pipe does not damage the tank lining.
Place the sensors slightly above the bottom of the tank so sludge formation at
the bottom will not affect their operation.
Always consider your safety when connecting or replacing sensors in the tanks
(e.g. risk of falling).
The measuring range of the sensor may be greater than the height of the tank.
Figure 4-3: Water tank schematic with corresponding measurements
The following measurements are used for the water tanks:
Size Description
h
100%
Height at maximum range of the sensor (20 mA). The sensor may
have a higher range than the actual height of the tank.
h
s
Height of the tank.
h
max
Maximum allowed height of water in the tank.
h
min
Minimum required height of water in the tank.
V
min
Minimum required volume of water in the tank.
V
m
Measured volume of water.
V
max
Maximum allowed volume of water in the tank.
